I love her. Real estate isn't always the easiest as a woman; I'm reminded of this as I meet other agents outside of my brokerage who are still fiercely part of the "old boys club." (Side note: Just want to say my brokerage is phenomenal and so full of love and is not a part of this).
Yesterday a male agent from another brokerage wouldn't let me preview the home because I didn't have a buyer physically with me. But I could tell it wasn't about the rules, it was because I was a woman. Patriarchy reveals itself in minor gatekeeping, talking over you, and micro-invalidations.
If I was a man, I guarantee he would've said, "Sure no problem, it's vacant anyway." But as a woman, I apparently better have a buyer with me because "he didn't like the idea of previewing."
Patriarchy hurts men and women, and it actively stifles the market. That's one less home I'm going to have on my radar for clients, and that's one less agent bringing a qualified buyer to his listing.
